Rudbeckia occidentalis 'Green Wizard'(Seeds)

Rudbeckia occidentalis 'Green Wizard' is an upright, rhizomatous perennial that grows to 2m in height.  It has branched stems bearing flower heads with a ring of green bracts at the base of a chocolate-brown, central cone and no petals. These unusual flowers are highly prized for floral arrangements either fresh or dried. Plants prefer moderately fertile soil that is well drained and full sun.

Seeds can be sown in either autumn or spring.  The seeds can be either sown in pots or direct in the garden.  As seeds need light to germinate, sprinkle on top of soil and sprinkle a fine layer of soil over the seeds.  Water and keep damp but not wet.  Germination occurs at approximately 15C and will take 14-21 days. Grow plants to 10cm in height and gently transplant.
