Note - Specialists like ourselves ensure our parent stock is genetically true and ensure their stock is grown in a manner that keeps the early flowering genetics active. It is pretty safe to say that unless your seeds are purchased from a specialist, they would have lost their early flowering qualities. What does this mean? The main thing for the consumer is that the commercially grown seeds are highly likely no longer early flowering even though they are marketed as being so.
History - Bred by David Lemon from the Early Multiflora Gigantea series 1962.
Early Multiflora Gigantea
Bred by Denholm Seed Company by crossing the old Zvolanek Early Spencer cultivars with the Cuthbertson Floribundas. Introduced in 1960 there were 22 varieties. The series proved popular in South Africa and Australia.
