Agapanthus - Blue
  • Agapanthus - Blue

    $7.00Price

This Agapanthus was gifted to me so sadly I do not know its name.  The flowers are a stunning shade of blue just like the photo.

Agapanthus to me are timeless.  They are suited to many different garden styles and growing conditions.  Agapanthus are a low maintenance perennial suited for dry gardens and cool climates.

The summer flowers make long lasting cut flowers.  However, if you get creative there is so much more you can do with these flowers.  Let go to seed and harvest when the seed pods have just formed.  Use as is or remove the seed pods.  These can be used either green or dried.

It is important to note that Agapanthus can become weedy.  For this reason do not let your plants set seeds.

The other important thing to know about Agapanthus is not to let them get too large.  They develop large root systems and are almost impossible to dig up.

Please note all parts of the plant are poisonous, especially the rhizome or root, leaves and sap. Skin contact with the sap may cause a burning sensation, skin irritation and rashes.  Wear gloves at all times when working with this plant.

Snails love these plants.  I use mine as a sacrificial plant.  Every week I check them and the ducks get a great feed.
