Why we need mild scented Sweet Peas

We all love Sweet Peas for their scent and often over look the less scented varieties.

The less scented varieties are a valuable and even necessary addition to the Sweet Pea collection. Just like selecting colours that do no clash you need to consider not allowing scent combinations clashing as well. This is where the milder scented Sweet Peas come into play. They can balance a display not only with their colour but with their lack of scent.

For example near my Philadelphus 'Virginal' I will be only planting the milder scented varieties of Sweet Peas. Not only do I want to avoid the clash and confusion of too much scent but I grow this plant for its scent, so I want to bath in it and nothing else.
